Bonfire Night Fun at 1st Brenchley and Matfield Scout Group
This week, our Cubs and Scouts gathered for a crackling Bonfire Night celebration filled with warmth, laughter, and community spirit. The evening kicked off with the building of a roaring bonfire, where we proudly burned the “guys” that the Cubs and Scouts had crafted in the weeks leading up to the event—each one a creative masterpiece!
As the flames danced, we fired up the BBQ and enjoyed delicious sausages under the autumn sky. Sparklers lit up the night with joy and excitement, adding a magical sparkle to an already memorable evening. It was a fantastic way to bring everyone together and celebrate the season with tradition, teamwork, and a touch of firelight magic.
Sweet Success at the Brenchley Fireworks Display
Our Cubs and Scouts had a blast joining the Brenchley Fireworks Display, brilliantly hosted by the PTFA. Amid the dazzling lights and festive atmosphere, our group ran a candy floss stall that proved to be a crowd favourite! With sticky fingers and big smiles, we spun up joy and raised an impressive £295 to support future adventures and activities.
It was a fantastic evening of community spirit, teamwork, and fundraising fun—thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported us!
Honouring Heroes at the Remembrance Day Parade
Members of 1st Brenchley and Matfield Scout Group proudly took part in the local Remembrance Day Parade, standing tall to honour those who have served and sacrificed. With heads held high and poppies worn with pride, our Cubs and Scouts joined the community in a moving tribute that reflected the values of respect, service, and remembrance.
It was a solemn and meaningful occasion, reminding us all of the importance of unity and gratitude. We’re proud of our young members for representing the group with dignity and care.
